Built in South Africa for solo trades
Quote, job, CoC, paid. From your phone.
Right now your admin runs on WhatsApp, a notebook, and a quote you type at 9pm. TradeFlow does that same job properly — a 2-minute quote lands in your client's WhatsApp as a real PDF, becomes a job when they accept, then an invoice with your banking details, then money in the bank. And it chases the slow payers for you.
Free plan is permanent, not a trial. Cancel in one tap. Your data stays readable even if you stop paying.
- Made in South Africa
- Works on any Android — installs from the browser
- No card to try, no contract, no call centre
- POPIA-aware — your data is yours
The whole job, one thumb
Five screens. No laptop, no email, no double-typing anything.
1 · Quote in 2 minutes
Parts, one tap for labour at your rate, totals do themselves. Every quote is CoC-ready. VAT only if you're registered.
2 · Straight to WhatsApp
A real PDF in the client's chat, plus a clean link where they tap Accept.
3 · Accepted → it's a job
On your board and calendar with photos, checklist and status — nothing retyped.
4 · Invoice with your bank details
SARS-happy numbering, EFT reference, or card payment through your own Yoco.
5 · Paid — and it nags for you
Quote ignored 3 days? Invoice overdue? One-tap WhatsApp nudge. Receipt sent automatically.
The two things nobody else has
Plenty of apps do quotes. These are the parts built only for South African sparkies.
A real SA Certificate of Compliance
Capture the certificate and per-board test sheets on site — continuity, insulation resistance, earth loop, ELU trip — run the will-this-pass self-audit, and issue a clean, sequentially numbered legal document with a QR code anyone can check on our public verify page. In a market with pre-signed blank CoCs floating around, “scan it and see who signed it” protects you and satisfies the attorney.
And the law is on your side of the invoice: under Regulation 7 of the Electrical Installation Regulations (2009), every user or lessor of an electrical installation must hold a valid CoC — and no property may change ownership on a certificate older than two years.
Straight talk: certificate issuing unlocks per trade only after review by a registered practitioner — that review is underway for electrical. Until it flips, certs preview as drafts. We'd rather be slow than wrong on a legal document.
Built for the phone in your pocket
Android-first, because that's what's actually on site in South Africa. Installs from the browser in two taps, works on a cheap handset, keeps working when the signal drops. Big buttons you can hit with work gloves on.
“We recommend using iPhones or iPads… ServiceM8 Lite for Android.” — the big international player, on their own website
There's a full desktop office too — tables, calendar with drag-to-reschedule — for the evenings you do admin on a bigger screen.
Phone-first. Not phone-only.
On site it's your phone. In the evening it's a proper office on your laptop or tablet — same account, same data, nothing to install from an app store. It's a web app, so it runs on any device with a browser: Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac.
Desktop — calendar with drag-to-reschedule
The office layer at a bigger screen: sidebar, month view, drag a job onto a day to schedule it.
Desktop — sortable document tables
Quotes and invoices as proper tables — sort, search, and see the rand value in view.
Tablet — jobs at a glance
The same account on an iPad or Android tablet: status strip, search, sortable jobs.
Just you? Just this.
Rand pricing, on the page, no “book a demo”.

Straight answers
The questions electricians and plumbers actually ask us.
Is a Certificate of Compliance legally required in South Africa?
Yes. Under Regulation 7 of the Electrical Installation Regulations (2009, OHS Act), every user or lessor of an electrical installation must hold a valid electrical Certificate of Compliance — and no property may change ownership on a certificate older than two years. Gas installations and electric fence systems have their own certificate requirements under separate regulations.
Can I issue an electrical CoC from my phone?
That's exactly what TradeFlow is built for: capture the certificate and per-board test sheets on site, run the will-this-pass self-audit, and produce a sequentially numbered PDF. Straight talk — certificate issuing switches on per trade only once a registered practitioner has reviewed the field set; that review is underway for electrical, and until it completes certificates preview as drafts.
How is this different from ECA's eCoC platform?
eCoC produces the certificate document. TradeFlow runs the whole job around it — the quote sent on WhatsApp, the job card, the certificate, the SARS-sequential invoice, the payment record and the follow-up that chases late payers — and every certificate carries a QR code anyone can verify publicly. One is a certificate pad; the other is your business.
How can my client or an attorney verify a certificate?
Every issued certificate carries a QR code and a verification link. Anyone — a homeowner, a conveyancing attorney, a bank — can scan it and see the certificate on record at our public verify page, with no login. In a market with pre-signed blank CoCs in circulation, a publicly verifiable certificate protects both the electrician and the buyer.
What does TradeFlow cost?
The free plan is R0 forever: 3 quotes and 1 certificate every month, renewing monthly — no card, no expiry. Standard is R99/month for unlimited quotes, invoices and certificates, automatic follow-ups, card payments through your own Yoco, and the desktop office. The first 50 businesses lock in R49/month for life.
Does it work on a cheap Android phone?
Yes — that's the design target. TradeFlow installs from the browser in two taps (no app store), runs on low-end Android handsets, keeps working through patchy signal, and the same account opens as a full desktop office on a laptop or tablet.
Which trades does it cover?
Electrical first, with certificate support built for electrical, gas, plumbing and electric fence work, plus quoting and invoicing for any trade — plumbers, builders, painters, carpenters. Certificate issuing unlocks per trade after practitioner review; the quote-to-payment side works for everyone today.
